Our NWS Karate Boksurg Dojo – Home of the tigers, is located in Atlasville.
Our accomplished black belt instructor is Sensei Panayiotis Chaniotakos (6th Dan).
Learn the basics:
- How to punch;
- How to kick;
- How to step;
- Combinations-kata form;
- Fighting techniques;
- Basic self defence;
- Become a good competitor; and
- T-box fitness circuit training.
- Weapons training: Nun Chaku, Bo & Sai.

Dan Gradings 2025
The Dojo welcomes their new Dan grades into the club. Sensei Takis 7th Dan (Nana Dan) and Senpai Harry Nienaber (Junior Shodan). After a dark cloud the Atlas club endured, it has started to strengthen its roots. I am grateful to have Senpai Alva and Senpai Harry steering the club forward. I’m proud to say I have a good strong team of brown belts that will be assisting in the growth.
As we gear up like there’s no tomorrow, now is the time to shine. Thank you Sensei John and to all of u that made our journey successful. We are all together. One team. The Dojo. Oss

New World Shotokan Karate
Our instructors are accomplished, high-ranking black belts who take their teaching seriously, especially towards children, combining a comprehensive education in well-established, orthodox karate practice and philosophy with modern sports-orientated competition karate.
Traditional karate is about effective self-defence under all conditions. When we refer to traditional karate, we mean more than just kicks, punches and blocks. Shotokan’s founder Gichin Funakoshi emphasized that a fight can end up on the ground, for which you need skills other than kicking, punching and blocking.
